When
The 42nd Western Springs Tower Trot will be held rain or shine on Saturday, May 25, 2019. The race is open to all ages and abilities. Registration is required and includes a t-shirt, entertainment and refreshments.
Beneficiary
The Western Springs Tower Trot will be partnering with the Healing Hearts for Ashley Foundation for second consecutive year. Ashley Jurjovec, a former Western Springs middle school teacher, passed away in May of 2016 from ARVC. Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is a genetic heart condition.
The Healing Hearts for Ashley Foundation was founded in 2017 to honor the memory of Ashley Jurjovec. The foundation is committed to raising awareness for ARVC. It supports research for The Cardiovascular Genetics Group at Lurie Children's Hospital. This genetic group works to identify families with inherited risk of sudden death and improve clinical and genetic assessment for those families. Read Ashley’s story at Healing Hearts for Ashley.
